Houseboat Excursion in Kerala backwaters. Ideal for cruise ship passengers.
Cruising in a private houseboat, with an overview of Fort Kochi and Jewish Town.
Houseboats once were spice boats or rice boats which used to carry black pepper, ginger, cardamom, cloves, turmeric, and later cashew nuts, tea coffee, rice, rubber and coir. The spice boats now innovated into luxury houseboats for hosting tourists from world over.
Made from teak it has caulked hull with bamboo roof. Bedrooms spacious for two and laid with Cambridge white bed linen and have attached powder rooms. This house boat meanders through the backwaters studded with coconut groves and lush green paddy fields. Paddy fields attract us as they lie below sea level.
We can witness the life of villagers educated and prosperous on the banks. Bungalows or rich houses of prosperous people painted in bright colours and churches, and temples also adorn the banks.
